Reserved lot vs. use date
The Predictive Engine compares each reserved lot's expiry with the date of the operation that consumes it.
Expiring Reserved Lot
The lot reserved for the next build expires before it starts.
Reservations are made when an order is planned; expiry dates don't care. When the operation that uses a material runs after the reserved lot expires, the build stops at the station — or worse, uses expired material. Otiox's Predictive Engine checks every reserved lot against the date it will actually be consumed and swaps it for the next usable lot in one confirmed step.

When the order was planned, the oldest lot was reserved — correct by FEFO. Then the order slipped. Now the operation that uses that material runs two days after the lot expires. Nobody re-checks a reservation once it's made; the operator finds out at the station, with the line waiting.

02Is anything changed before I confirm?
No. Otiox shows the swap as a preview first; the reservation changes only when you confirm.
03What happens to the expiring lot?
Its reservation for this order is released, so it can be used elsewhere before it expires — or written off.
04What if there isn't enough usable stock?
The swap isn't offered; the forecast shows the shortfall so you can buy or re-plan instead.
