Overstock

Several times more on the shelf than you will ever reorder at.

A reorder point set for last season keeps proposing purchases while units pile up and tie up cash. Otiox's Integrity Engine measures every product and variant against its own reorder point, shows the capital held above it, and pauses reordering in one confirmed step.

Pause reordering — previewed, then confirmed by you.

No new purchase proposals until you set the reorder point again.

01The Challenge

Cash on the shelf, purchases still going out.

Stock grows quietly: a promotion that underperformed, a variant nobody picks, a reorder point nobody revisited. Every unit above what you need is cash that cannot be spent elsewhere — and the replenishment rules keep adding more.
  1. 01
Reorder points never revisited after demand changes
  2. 02
Variants hide inside a healthy-looking product total
  3. 03
Replenishment keeps proposing purchases for overstocked items
  4. 04
Excess becomes a markdown or a write-off months later

How It Works

Purpose-built features that solve these exact problems.
01

Per item, per variant

Each product — and each variant on its own — is compared with its own reorder point, using the same stock you see on the product.
02

Capital in plain numbers

The finding states the units above the buffer and the capital they tie up.
03

Pause reordering

One button sets the reorder point to zero after a preview that names the item, the old and the new value.
04

Rule-aware

When an automatic replenishment rule also covers the item, pausing that rule is offered too.
05

Closes itself

The next scan resolves the finding once the item is no longer above its buffer.
04

What You'll Gain

Tangible improvements that impact your bottom line.
  1. 01
No new cash into old stock

Purchases stop for items that already have too much.

  2. 02
    Variants you'd miss

One colour can be overstocked while the product looks fine.

  3. 03
    Previewed, not guessed

Nothing changes until you confirm the exact change.

  4. 04
    A clear next move

Pause, then plan a promotion for the units above the buffer.

05

Real-World Scenarios

See how this works in practice.
Scenario 1

One variant piles up

One colour of a sensor holds four times its reorder point while the other sells normally.
Scenario 2

A bundle nobody reorders

A kit holds more than four times its buffer after a slow quarter.
Scenario 3

An old reorder point

A driver board still reorders at its launch-season level.
06

The Transformation

From chaos to clarity.
Before
  • Excess found at stock-take
  • Replenishment keeps buying
  • Variants hidden in totals
  • Markdown months later
After
  • Excess flagged per variant
  • Reordering paused in one step
  • Capital tied up shown
  • Promotion planned early

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions.
01When is an item flagged?
When stock on hand is well above its own reorder point (by default three times). Products with variants are measured per variant against each variant's own reorder point.
02What does Pause reordering change?
Only the reorder point of that product or variant, set to zero. Stock on hand is untouched. The preview shows the item and the old and new value before you confirm.
03Can I undo it?
Yes. Set the reorder point back on the product or variant when you want replenishment to resume.
04Does it sell the excess for me?
No. It stops new purchases; the finding suggests a promotion for the units above the buffer, which you plan yourself.
