Otiox Command · Rules & Controls

Principles, expressed in the language of the business itself.

Because Otiox models your operation as an ontology, a rule can speak about real things — a manufacturing order, its materials, its machine, its inspection — rather than a field on a screen. Otiox verifies those principles continuously against the records you already keep, and preserves an attested account of every run.

Principles, continuously verified.

Rules & Invariants state what must always be true. The Control Monitor shows, run after run, whether it was.

Rules & Invariants

02

Report, never block

Rules report; they never block an existing action. Warn, monitor and trial modes let a rule be introduced without disturbing the floor.

Which records break it, now

Each rule shows how many records break it today, a daily history, and a direct path to the records themselves.

Control Monitor

Detective controls over your records — purchase-order approval above threshold, for example — run daily, with tested and exception counts for every run.

Every run is preserved, can be attested by the responsible person, and exports to JSON or CSV for auditors.

Exceptions and change history

Approved exceptions are recorded with their reason. Every change to a rule is kept, so you can show which rules applied on any date.

Evidence that the controls ran — and what they found.

The Control Monitor runs once a day, or on demand. Each run is preserved with its scope, author and exceptions, ready to be attested and exported.

From principle to proof

How a rule becomes audit evidence.
  1. 01

    State the rule

What must hold, over which records, with what tolerance

  2. 02

    Trial it

Monitor mode reports without raising risks

  3. 03

    Verify daily

    Every matching record is tested

  4. 04

    Resolve

Correct the record, or approve an exception with its reason

  5. 05

    Attest

Sign off the run and hand it to the auditor

04

What must always hold, in one place.

Rules are grouped by when they apply — before an action, during it, after it — each with its severity, mode, scope, and a daily record of how often it was broken.
  1. 01
    Severity: high, warning or info
  2. 02
    Mode: warn, monitor or trial
  3. 03
A daily history of breaking records
  4. 04
Rules, exceptions and full change history

Questions

01Will rules prevent my team from working?
No. Rules report; they never block an existing action. Each rule can warn, only monitor, or run as a trial.
02What distinguishes a rule from a control?
A rule states what must always hold across your records. A control in the Control Monitor is a detective check that runs on a schedule, preserves every result, and can be attested and exported for audit.
03Can auditors receive the evidence directly?
Yes. Every control run exports as JSON or CSV, with its coverage window, author, tested records and exceptions.
04Do licence and regulatory checks belong here?
Yes. A rule can require, for instance, that a manufacturing order starts only at a site where every licence on your regulatory list is granted and valid.
